Just in case you forgot, Victor Cui and ONE FC are rolling into the World MMA Awards this weekend

It’s a dream of mine to one day host a real ceremony for the TFN Awards. There will be all the glitz and glamor just like any awards show. All the stars, fighters, babes and their dead beat friends who just happen to get on the guest list will be present. Awards will be given out, fists will be bumped and the word “bro” will be used at every second possible. Oh yeah, and there will be A LOT of beer. The TFN Awards will be the sexiest MMA awards show of all time. But for now, we’ll have to make do with this. Yeah, that was a cheap plug, live with it.

One awards show that has a massive budget however, is the Fighter’s Only World MMA Awards. We’ll be the first to admit that their awards show is the biggest MMA awards show today and they honor the Best in the World. Their show is as big as Butterbean’s appetite at a Kentucky Fried Chicken “All You Can Eat” buffet. This year’s awards show will be hosted by the one and only “American Gangster” Chael P. Sonnen and will feature awards for Best Promotion, Fighter of the Year, Fight of the Year, etc. You can check out the full list of awards over here.

This year will be a very special year for Asian MMA at the World MMA Awards as both ONE FC and its CEO, Victor Cui, have been nominated for Best Promotion and Leading Man of the Year respectively. The nominations for both ONE FC and Cui are a true testament of how fast ONE FC has become a major player in the MMA scene, not just in Asia, but globally as well alongside powerhouses like the UFC and Bellator. It’s held 5 successful and sold out shows in Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines and Indonesia respectively, it struck an unprecedented 10 year deal with ESPN StarSports, it has some of the best talent in Asia on its roster, and it’s got some of the biggest brands as cash paying sponsors like Sony, Schick, Energizer, Carl’s Jr Burgers and Malaysian telecoms giant Tune Talk. In one short year, ONE FC has become the King of Asian MMA and one of the biggest MMA promotions in the world.

The only question that remains is, did Asian MMA and ONE FC fans vote enough to make ONE FC and Victor Cui winners at the biggest MMA awards ceremony in the world? We got to wait and see. We’ve cast our vote, have you cast yours? We hope you did because we might just have to kick your ass if you didn’t. I’m going to “LOL” right now and tell you that we’re just joking. You just suck if you didn’t vote (but hey, at least no asses will be kicked).
