It’s been a busy year for Pacific Xtreme Combat. The promotion has been consistently putting on some great fight cards in Guam and the Philippines and it looks like it’s not slowing down anytime soon. PXC’s next event will see the promotion heading back to the Philippines. PXC 41 will take place at the Ynares Sports Arena Pasig on November 9th.
The event will be headlined by current PXC Flyweight Champion Ale Cali and no.1 contender Louis Smolka. It’s been awhile since we’ve seen fan favorite Ale Cali. Cali last defended his title almost a year ago against Filipino MMA veteran Erwin Tagle. Tagle was no match for Cali who defeated him via TKO in the 3rd round.
However, Cali will be facing a much stiffer competitor in the form of Smolka. Smolka is undefeated with a 4 fight win streak. He was last seen defeating Jessie Rafols with ease via a first round submission at PXC 39. Smolka is a legitimate threat to Cali’s title. Add the fact that Cali hasn’t competed in almost a year, and it can be easily said that the champion has an uphill task this time round.
Also scheduled to compete at the event will be the one and only Mark Striegl. Striegl will be looking to bounce back from the first loss of his career which happened at the hands of Korea’s Jang Yong Kim. Their bout took place at PXC 39 and it was for the PXC Featherweight title. Striegl lost the bout via submission in the 3rd round.
Another fighter lined up for a big return will be Team Lakay’s Cris Pitpitunge. Pitpitunge was last seen losing his bantamweight title to Japanese stand out Michinori Tanaka. Pitpitunge will be facing Russel Doane in his return.
