The guy who beat the snort of Denis Kang is the new middleweight champ

So while the world was going crazy over the fact that Nick “I’m so gangsta” Diaz losing to a well deserved winner in Carlos Condit, the Koreans were having an MMA event of their own. Last night in Seoul, South Korea, ROAD FC held their ROAD FC 6 event (in case you’re wondering, it’s their 6th event). The event showcased the semi-finals and finals of their middleweight tournament. As some of you may know, Shungo Oyama, aka the guy who beat the snort out of Denis Kang in Korea, won the whole shindig and became their new middleweight champion.

The promotion also kicked off it’s Bantamweight tournament with a match between one of the top Korean bantamweights, Kyung Ho Kang and American standout Andrew Leone. The match was pretty controversial as Kyung had 3 points deducted from him and lost 20% of his purse because he weighed in 3kg (no it’s not 1 point for one kilogram) over the weight limit. Seriously, when you get 3 points deducted in a 3 round fight, that’s not a good thing. The controversy started when Leone won the fight via decision when many felt that Kyung controlled most of the fight. The bottom line is that Leone fought hard in the fight and won via unanimous decision. We’re sure that Kyung had a good excuse for not making weight like his health being in danger or that he had a giant bucket of  KFC chicken staring at him begging to be eaten but still, rules are rules (eventhough they seem weird in Korea).

Oh yeah, and there was a match was titled the “Crying Fist Special Fight”. How rad is that?

Enough of the banter, here are the results for Road FC 6 – Final 4. By the way, we know the results are on Sherdog but they did such a mess out of it (it wasn’t even highlighted that there was a tournament) that we thought we’d do it some justice and re-organize it for you.
