RUFF 5 Results: Rodrigo Caporal KO’s Wu HaoTian

Rodrigo Caporal earned a huge win at RUFF 5 by knocking out the hometown favorite Wu HaoTian in the main event at RUFF 5 last Saturday. Caporal started the fight in his usual fashion by taking down his Chinese opponent and use his superior Brazilian Jiu Jitsu skills to control the fight. Wu eventually managed to get back to his feet and the rounded ended with both fighters trading knees in the clinch.

Caporal came back strong in the second and decided to stand toe to toe with Wu. Caporal eventually managed to land a hard right at 1:47 into the second round and dropped Wu like a sack of potatoes. Carporal was declared the winner by KO.

“I tried to take him down but he defended good,” explained Caporal. “I trained to strike [in this fight] and my boxing is better now . . . now it’s time to forget this fight and focus on the next one.”

In the co-main event, Jumabieke Tuerxun KOd Jiang LongYun, early in the 1st round of the fight. The impressive win led Tuerxun to an even more impressive MMA record of 13-0. This guy’s a complete monster and it looks like he’s well on his way to earning a spot in the 2013 RMB 1,000,000 Super Fight. On top of winning the fight, Tuerxun also won the “Ducati Knockout of the Night.”

RUFF 5 took place on September 8, 2012 at the Inner Mongolia Indoor Stadium, Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, China. It was the first RUFF event to ever be streamed live on the Internet as well.
